EDUCATION CENTRE

This site aims to provide students and teachers with access to free educational resources, designed to help make learning fun and thought-provoking. Focused around role play activities, these resources have all been tested in schools.  The approach is unapologetically Geddesian, based on the Scottish school of generalism.  Patrick Geddes believed that thinking should not be fragmented, but operate across all areas of thought.  As Hugh MacDiarmid famously said, “We know that watertight compartments are useful only to a sinking ship”.  Geddes neatly summed up his educational philosophy as:

Sympathy – understanding of fellow man and the environment

Synergy – bringing together different areas of learning

Synthesis – building a connected whole.
